Top 5 Social Events of 2020

1. Fall Festival

In late October we hosted our Fall Festival outdoors for all of our Members to enjoy! This was the perfect way to kick off autumn and a great way for our community to socialize, enjoy some live music and delicious food! Attendees had a beautiful (and warm) afternoon sampling funnel cakes, warming up with a chili cook-off, bluegrass music, cornhole, shopping craft vendors, and getting some portraits created by a caricature artist! Everyone had a great time!

2. Summer Camp Week 2020

What’s better than a week at Summer Camp!? In late August, our community turned into Camp Wildewood! The first day of camp began with tie-dye face masks and ended with a little water works fun!! We competed to knock ping pong balls off tees with squirt guns. Those who attended to see who could fill their cup up the fastest with a frisbee filled with water, and of course the water balloon toss! Throughout the week our Members earned ‘badges’ for first aid (homemade sanitizer), Axe Throwing, TED Talks, Fear Factor and more! We had so much fun at Camp Wildewood and can’t wait to do it again next summer!!

3. Christmas in July

In Mid-July our Members enjoyed a ‘Christmas in July’ celebration to spread some much needed cheer! Wildewood Members really embraced the spirit of the season with festive sweaters and decorations outside of their homes! They enjoyed poinsettia punch, created early holiday cards, played holiday games, and staff went to each home with Santa himself – caroling and delivering yummy treats! There were so many laughs and smiles – it was a great way to bring joy into our community.

4. Oktoberfest

In the beginning of October, we put on our lederhosen and celebrated Oktoberfest in our brand new tent! Wildewood Members loved being outdoors, enjoying the beautiful fall weather and spending time with friends. The Wildewood Dining Services team whipped up three incredible menus with pretzels, pork schnitzel, German potato salad, apple strudel, roasted chicken and bratwurst to pair with their favorite beer! For our Oktoberfest entertainment, we welcomed entertainer Jennifer Campbell on accordion! At the end of the celebration, Members went home with a mini beer mug filled with sweet treats to remember the afternoon! Prost to good times and even better friends!

5. Costume Days

Each week, our programming team would ring in the weekend with a themed ‘happy hour’ cart with cocktails and fresh hors d’oeuvres! Along with the carts, the team would dress up and bring the laughs directly into our Members homes! There were so many incredible outfits throughout the year it would be hard just to choose one.
